Essex Royal Arch Donate £5,000 to Haven House Children’s Hospice

The Outreach Services of the Haven House Children’s Hospice, Woodford Green receive £5,000 from Essex Royal Arch companions

Companions of the Royal Arch in Essex have made another generous £5,000 donation, this time to Haven House Children’s Hospice in Woodford Green, to support their vital Bereavement Outreach Service for families across Essex and North-East London.

The donation was presented during a visit by Peter Hollingsworth, Deputy Grand Superintendent, Jack Gilliland, Second Provincial Grand Principal, and members of the Provincial Charity Team, who were warmly welcomed by Sarah Harris, Community and Events Manager at Haven House.

During the visit, Sarah provided a guided tour of the hospice, sharing how the facility offers care and support to children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions, and the families who love them. The team learned more about the hospice’s Bereavement Outreach Service, which provides counselling, home visits, and ongoing emotional support to parents, siblings, and carers coping with loss.

Sarah said: “We are so grateful to the Royal Arch Companions of Essex for this incredibly kind donation. Our Bereavement Outreach Service is entirely dependent on charitable support, and this funding will allow us to continue providing comfort and care to families at the most difficult times in their lives.”

Peter Hollingsworth commented: “It was deeply moving to see the care and compassion that Haven House provides every single day. The Royal Arch Companions are proud to support such a dedicated team who bring light and hope to families facing the hardest of circumstances.”

This donation is part of a wider Essex Companions initiative supporting local schools and hospices during the Christmas period, ensuring care, comfort, and connection reach families who need it most. It also forms part of the Essex 250th Anniversary ‘Building Together’ celebrations, marking 250 years of charitable giving and service to the community.
