Little Havens Hospice receive an incredible £5,000 towards some restoration works and their Christmas festivities

The Companions of the Royal Arch in Essex have donated an incredible £5,000 to Little Havens Hospice, supporting its vital work caring for children and their families across Essex.
The donation was presented during a visit by Dennis Baum, Third Provincial Grand Principal, Jim Wolfe, Assistant to the Provincial Grand Principals, Chris Hicks, Provincial Grand Charity Steward, and members of the Provincial Charity Team, who were warmly welcomed by the hospice’s staff and volunteers.
The generous contribution will fund restoration works in the Hospice’s Bereavement Suite — a calm, comforting space that helps families reflect and remember their loved ones — as well as supporting Little Havens’ Christmas festivities.
Following the visit, Aron from the Fundraising Team at Little Havens shared his gratitude by saying, “I especially want to express our immense gratitude for the incredible donation from the Provincial Grand Lodge of Essex. It will make such a tangible difference! This donation will not only cover the cost of new flooring in our Bereavement Suite but will also go towards the Little Havens Christmas Party and sponsor our Christmas Trees and Baubles. This sponsorship is vital as it will help us generate even more money to support the families who need us during the festive season.”
In addition to the financial donation, volunteers from the Royal Arch and Provincial Charity Team have also pledged to support the charity’s Christmas Tree Recycling initiative, joining the hospice’s community collection days in January 2026.
Dennis Baum said, “It was inspiring to see first-hand the extraordinary care Little Havens provides. The Royal Arch Companions are proud to play a small part in supporting their essential work, particularly at such an important and emotional time of year.”
This initiative is part of a wider Essex Companions effort to support local schools and hospices over the Christmas period, providing help where it is needed most and bringing comfort to families and communities across the county. It also reflects the continuing generosity of Essex Freemasons.
