Sunshine, Sizzle & Splash: Orsett Lodge, Summer BBQ makes a big Splash for Charity!

Orsett Lodge No. 5424 annual Summer BBQ and Pool Party was back with a bang last weekend, and what a day it was! Members, families, and friends came together for an afternoon packed with sunshine, sizzling food, poolside laughs, and plenty of fundraising fun.
The Tiki Bar, as always, stole the show, serving up colourful - and very strong! - cocktails all day long, while the BBQ crew dished out a feast of burgers, sausages, and summer favourites that kept everyone coming back for more.
The garden, bathed in sunshine, was buzzing with energy: children splashing in the pool, adults sharing stories, and friendly lodge competitions like ‘Hide the inflatable chicken’ adding to the laughter, with Henry de Gray Lodge No. 6627 crowned inaugural champions.
No Orsett BBQ would be complete without the legendary bottle game, and it didn’t disappoint! - With playful rivalries, dramatic near-wins, and lots of cheering, it had everyone hooked. The raffle was another big hit, inspiring generous donations and plenty of good-natured competition.
The event was hosted by Steve Bruyel, Deputy Provincial Grand Charity Steward with his family and afterwards he said:
“A massive thank you to my family for all their hard work, and to all the various Lodge and Chapter members, families, and friends who joined us and supported the day. It’s always a great laugh, but what matters most is that we’ve raised funds that will really help charities and community groups who need it most.”
With fellowship, fun, and fundraising at its heart, the day captured the very best of Freemasonry, bringing people together to make a meaningful difference in the community.
