Sylvan Lodge present their latest presentation The Master Masons’ Tale

The Sylvan Lodge No. 6381 the Mentoring Lodge of Essex conclude their trilogy of expounding the symbology of the degrees

A significant event took place on Saturday 26th April at the Upminster Masonic Centre, known as ‘The Square.’ The Sylvan Lodge No. 6381 presented 'The Master Masons Tale.'

There were 70 individuals in attendance, including members, guests, and notably Master Masons. The event was further distinguished by the presence of Paul Tarrant, the Provincial Grand Master (PGM), along with Assistant Provincial Grand Masters (APGM) Colin Felton and Elliot Chevin.

This unique demonstration, performed by the officers of the Lodge, acting in their respective roles or reading relevant scripts, delved into the deeper meaning of the Third-Degree ritual to reveal the hidden symbolism of the degree.

An elaborate summons was presented to everyone, detailing the programme and listing the names of all those taking part.

Russell Keetch, the Provincial Grand Mentor (ProvGMen) also the event organiser, mentioned that the ceremony was taken from the extensive research papers of Keith Carpenter and being collated by Vishnu Ramoutar, to whom they owe an enormous debt of gratitude. He also stated, “This interpretation does not represent the definitive explanation of the Third Degree and that as our research widens, we will incorporate updates and amendments as required.”

He then acknowledged everyone who participated and attended the numerous Lodge of Instructions to accomplish this presentation.

A hearty festive board followed full of friendship and good cheer with a wonderful £520 raised for Masonic Charities.

This is the third ‘highly successful’ demonstration conducted by the Sylvan Lodge (the Mentoring Lodge of Essex), following the explanation of First-degree symbology in ‘What Just Happened’ and Second-degree symbology in ‘The Hidden Mysteries’. Going forward the Lodge has scheduled six performances at various Masonic centres throughout Essex.
