A Momentous Occasion: Consecration of the Essex Cornerstone Chapter
Hedingham Castle, Halstead is the delightful setting for the Consecration of the Essex Cornerstone Chapter
Set against the historic backdrop of Hedingham Castle, Halstead on Friday, 20th September a milestone event took place in the Essex Cornerstone community – the Consecration of the Essex Cornerstone Chapter No. 9968.
The ceremony took place in the Castle’s imposing Banqueting Hall with Paul Tarrant, Most Excellent Grand Superintendent (MEGS), presiding, accompanied by Elliot Chevin, Deputy Grand Superintendent, John Crudgington and John Hubbard, Second and Third Provincial Grand Superintendent’s (PGP) respectively together with other Provincial executive and founders of the Chapter.
The day’s celebrations were nothing short of spectacular especially within the confines of a Norman Castle with a significant history spanning 900-years. Following the formal proceedings, attendees enjoyed a champagne reception and dined in the Castle Keep with a sumptuous five-course meal, accompanied by flowing wine and port. The camaraderie and enthusiasm were palpable as everyone revelled in the joy of this special occasion.
The Essex Cornerstone Club, since its inception in 2016, has become an emblem of Freemasonry's future in the Province of Essex. Catering specifically to Freemasons under the age of 40, this club has created a vibrant community and provided a nurturing environment for young Masons.
In 2019, the club launched The Essex Cornerstone Lodge No. 9968. This was created to maintain contact with alumni members who have unfortunately exceeded the age limit.
Now, the consecration of the Essex Cornerstone Chapter, with its perfect blend of tradition and fellowship, sets a high standard for the meetings. With the foundation laid and Jack Gilliland as the Primus First Principal, it is expected that many new members will join, further enriching the brotherhood.
All who attended left with a renewed sense of purpose and excitement for what lies ahead.
