Essex Cornerstone Foundation continue its support for those most in need by delivering another 250 homeless packs
The Essex Cornerstone Foundation has delivered another 250 essential homeless packs to Friends of Essex and London Homeless, reinforcing its ongoing commitment to supporting vulnerable communities across the county.
Paul Williams, Chairman of the Essex Cornerstone Club, visited the charity’s stall in Grays to meet volunteers, see the impact of the donations first hand, and view the new van purchased by Essex Freemasons as part of their 250th anniversary celebrations. The vehicle will help the charity reach more people in need throughout Essex and London.
The essential packs contain practical items such as toothbrushes, soap, socks, and ponchos, all neatly packed into a drawstring bag, offering immediate comfort and dignity to those sleeping rough.
This initiative forms part of the Essex Cornerstone Foundation’s ongoing support to the homeless, and is aligned with the Essex 250th anniversary campaign, in which Essex Freemasons are donating £425,000 to five essential charities — including those supporting homelessness, mental health, and vulnerable families.
“This is more than just providing items — it’s about showing people they haven’t been forgotten,” said Paul Williams. “The work Friends of Essex and London Homeless do, is inspiring and we’re proud to support them as part of the Foundation’s support for the homeless and Essex Freemasons 250 campaign.”
The Essex Cornerstone Foundation has made tackling homelessness one of its key priorities, with 1,000 packs pledged to local charities and community groups.
The Friends of Essex and London Homeless team, run entirely by volunteers, provides hot food, clothing, and essential supplies to those living on the streets, with regular outreach sessions in Grays and surrounding areas.
Steven Stuart for the charity said, “The continued support from Essex Freemasons and the Cornerstone Foundation makes a real difference. The packs and the van are helping us reach more people than ever before.”
